Can you summarize your year?

We asked some of the students from 2022/2023 if they could summarize their year at Elverum Folkehøgskole in one word.

The year behind a word

Behind educational, content-rich, unforgettable, fun and slay (!?) lies the sum of a year at folk high school.

There are line classes, electives and joint subjects. There are seminars, themed weeks, house group meetings, room cleaning and kitchen service.

There are study tours and everyday life. It is the experience of coping, ups and downs. Expertise as a photographer, on skis or on stage. And life skills. Laundry. Small and big challenges. Conversations with the roomie and the line teacher. Philosophizing after morning gathering. Cooperation. Attendance when you would rather sleep. And the wonderful feeling of discovering new sides of yourself. Persist - and get something done. Together or alone. Make someone else happy. Hang out in the living room with a fireplace, or in the art workshop late into the night.
