Uganda v Kenya

Done with Kasese and Kampala - now Lamu awaits

THE TOURIST PROJECT

Brilliant day at Mbunga Campsite where former students have achieved a lot and with the help of several Rotary Clubs in the Kongsvinger region have received water for the entire project as well as for schools, churches and villages in the area here at 1700 meters altitude. The volunteers this year, led by American Kristin and Danish Lotte, have continued this and for the first time there were many people up to the waterfalls at 2200 meters above sea level. Vigorous gangs went both from Kilembe and from Mbunga

CONGO MARKET, RENA SCHOOL AND BOAT SAFARI

Long and educational Tuesday. We start with a walk into the Congo (although only a meter for the photographer), then a tour of the hectic border market before we joined Kule Phillip to Rena School and got to see what the money from Åmot municipality (read Active for Others) was used for , as well as some charming entertainment by the children and light refreshments. Then there was a new contrast-filled experience with lunch at the beautiful luxurious Mweya Lodge and a dream boat safari where the elephants queued to show off. The fact that we also got to see the leopard does not detract from the overall impression.

A good meter into the Congo....it will do!
Dance with the children at Rena School
Love at first sight
Ready for land after a long day in the water

A DAY AT NURSERY, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY

The last day in Kasese was at the schools. Very popular for the 800 pupils and an exciting experience for us. Proud students and staff from Elverum and Romerrike folk high school

Great training for retired pediatrician and member of Elverum Rotary, Olav Flesvik (82!)
And slightly younger Anne Kath Børresen was no less active.

IMPRESSIVE EFFORT BY THE OVER 20 VOLUNTEERS ON ALL THE PROJECTS AND JUST AS IMPRESSIVE IS THE FUNDRAISING ABILITY OF THE AFRICAN STUDENTS OF THE YEAR!
