A week in October

Language, history and mushroom

The students have been in Norway for some weeks now and experienced the Norwegian way of living. This week is packed with history, language and … funnel chanterelle

Eidsvollbygningen

Eidsvollbygningen is one of the destinations this week. It’s an important place for Norway’s history that MUST be visited! But before that, we need to learn a little about events that «shaped» the country.

At Eidsvollbygning, we walk through the rooms where the representatives from across Norway sat, ate, slept and finally signed the Constitution in 1814. Actually, we visit «the most important room in Norway», according to the guide.

Automn in Elverum can be wonderful – nice colors, earthy smell, misty atmosphere. Being in the forest at that time of the year to pick berries and mushrooms is an activity that many Norwegians enjoy. So, we had to try…

Even if you only picked funnel chanterelle, Gry Handberg, an experienced mushroom controler goes through the gold we found in the forest. Every singel mushroom is checked and cleaned. We are looking forward to nice meals with tasty funnel chanterelle!
