Drawing and painting

You get an introduction to basic drawing and painting techniques, how to draw shadows, perspective, anatomy and landscape.

Here you can develop your personal expression in drawing and painting. Sometimes we spend several hours on the same task, other times we have a whole hour with, for example, croquet (quick sketches of the human body). We reflect on how colors and the use of symbols affect the image, what makes you like one image better than another, and how to place things in the image. In the subject, we work both with tasks that increase your drawing skills, but you also get time to work on independent projects where you develop your personal expression and style.

We work in the art hall with drawing pencils, watercolor paint and acrylic paint. We work mostly on paper, but also painting boards.

A painting requires a little mystery, some vagueness, and some fantasy. When you always make your meaning perfectly plain you end up boring people.
