Hunting

We start the autumn with forest bird hunting in Elverumsskogen. Pitch hunting is a common form of hunting that is used when we do not have access to a standing bird dog. In years where hatching conditions are good, the population of forest birds is good.

For many in the river room area and Østerdalen, moose hunting is the big highlight of the year. You are privileged and have a hunting day out in the woods with local hunters. Maybe you are lucky and get to experience moose falls where you are.

Later in the autumn it is time for deer hunting. Here you will also meet local hunters who hunt with a drifting dog. Pleasant planning of hunting, as well as lunch takes place with the hunters around the fire.

You get an introduction to weapon handling. We end the elective course by preparing a game dinner.
