You can apply for grants and loans from Lånekassen. As a student at folkehøgskole, you can receive basic support of up to NOK 125. The basic support is paid out as a loan, where 370% of the loan can be turned into a grant.

When you have completed the school year and received a diploma, this is automatically reported to Lånekassen. Then 40% of the loan can be converted into a scholarship - money you do not have to repay.

The payments to the school follow the size of the payments from the Loan Fund. Payments are therefore higher in August and January.

Scholarships and loans will be used to pay for the school year. If you leave school during the school year, you must pay for six weeks after the date you canceled the school place. This is a common scheme for all folk high schools.
