Budapest is a city with a long and winding history marked by much adversity, but which despite that appears incredibly beautiful and exciting.

Through four great days, Photography and Music have both experienced and learned a lot of history, culture and received good professional training!

Sightseeing

The students have prepared a sightseeing tour in advance, the purpose of which is to learn about the public transport system in the city. The first afternoon is spent on this, before we meet in the evening at Hoff House where we will see a funny stand-up show with local comedians with more or less experience.

Guided tour – and ruin pub

The next day we will have a walking tour of the city with a local guide. She will tell us about the city and the country's long and difficult history, while we will also get an insight into buildings, street art and fun facts. We will then head to one of the city's ruin pubs, Szimpla Kert, where the students will take pictures in groups of a fictional band (Moist Granmas, Sticky Pirates, Sweaty Cupcakes, Funky Hamsters, Angry Bananas)...

Many also visit Soos Photo, a vintage store with lots of camera equipment.

We round off the day with sunset at Fisherman's Bastion, a fortress high up on the Buda side, with fantastic views of the city.

Inspiring exhibitions and impressive concert

Thursday is the big museum day. We open with a joint tour of the World Press Photo exhibition. There we will be served the best press photos and the strongest stories from the past year, which make a big impression. Lots of inspiration for Photography and for the music students who will use the photos as a starting point for a song lyric.

Furthermore, Photography goes to the Robert Capa Museum, while Music takes in an exhibition at the House of Music. The evening is rounded off with a visit to the Budapest Jazz Club, and a concert with insanely talented musicians for great inspiration.
