Life at school

The spring semester at Music – Band/Vocal

Advanced subject, composition, tour and interrail...and lots of other things in between!

The autumn has been a lot about getting to know each other really well, getting into good routines, having a good introduction to the school's music facilities and rehearsing and playing a lot of concerts. We have also been on a trip to two European cities, and played elf theater to raise money for our aid project in Uganda. In other words, there has been the greatest focus on interaction and development in and by the entire group.

Spring is more about personal development and finding your own voice, sound and expression. When all the students as individuals get better at their craft, it will also be reflected in the interaction when we as a group go on a tour in March with self-produced material. Before that time, we will be working a lot on:

  • Personal expression and own sound.
  • Their own in-depth study, where they will explore elements of music that they want to know more about or become better at.
  • Cubase as a work tool.
  • Composition, lyrics and harmony theory.
  • Sound course, from technical rigging to how to get good sound both for the audience and on stage.
  • Presence on stage.
  • General musical understanding and theory.
  • Project in Performance Art together with Kunstlinja.

Together with Fotolinja, we will also plan and carry out a cultural trip through Europe in the transition from April to May, where we can potentially visit 5-6 countries in 9 days. Here, students will find transport and accommodation from place to place, learn budget management and find good logistics to be able to experience as much as possible on the trip.

The time from January to May will probably never go faster. It's just a matter of going along for the entire semester trip, and being able to stop a little to be able to enjoy it at the same time.
