Life at school

We are on German TV!

We were recently visited by the German news media Tagesschau, who made a report about Norwegian folk high schools – with footage from our everyday lives at Elverum folk high school.

In the story, viewers get an insight into how young people in Norway spend a year at folk high schools to develop both socially and personally, without the pressure of grades. The report highlights in particular how students learn through practical experiences, community and activities in nature.

An important theme in the segment is also how young people can practice independence, cooperation and preparedness – skills that are becoming increasingly relevant in an unpredictable world.

For us, it is both a pleasure and an important thing to be able to showcase what folk high schools are to an international audience. This visit shows that what we do here at the school not only engages in Norway, but also arouses interest far beyond the country's borders.
