Life at school

Wonderful family weekend!

350 guests had a weekend in the folk high school bubble.

Family weekend is a very nice tradition at the beginning of December every year. Family and friends come to get a little insight into the folk high school bubble. We offer shows, exhibitions, Christmas lighting and good food.

Friday

On Friday, the Music Department provided the entertainment, with a concert consisting of highlights from the semester.

In addition, many people took the opportunity to enjoy themselves in the fireplace room and catch up on everything that has happened since the last time.

Saturday

On Saturday, everyone was invited to breakfast, before the guests got a taste of “a folk high school day.” There were speeches, singing, and a seminar with information about the school year so far, a presentation of the school's aid projects, and the Movies on War film festival.

Afterwards, the Africa line opened a cafe with porridge, cake and raffle tickets to raise money for aid. At the same time, all lines opened various exhibitions where guests could see what the lines have done so far through films, pictures and presentations.

The Multisport line took parents to a match in the sports hall, while Music ran a replay of the Friday concert for those who couldn't make it.

Now it's Christmas!

After a good break with the opportunity to hang out with the guests, we gathered to turn on the Christmas lights at the school. The entire avenue, the facade and many trees on the school grounds were lit, before the guests were given a taste of the Christmas performance by the Africa and Music class that will be performed later in December (of course also to raise money for the aid projects). Afterwards, the classes had a cozy dinner together.

Open stage

The open stage contributes to some major highlights throughout the year, and the guests were also able to participate in this. There were performances from various Band electives, Djembe electives and Choir electives on stage, with students from all lines represented.

The evening ended with coffee and cakes, before we rounded off the weekend with Sunday brunch.
