Backpacking in Poland
Gdansk
Backpacker/Extreme sport going on their first backpacking trip. Gdansk is the first stop on this week's trip to Poland. One night's accommodation and a day of guiding await us in this beautiful city in northwestern Poland. The gang is divided into 4 groups and they have each chosen their own accommodation. Everyone is present when the first group is aware of their guide responsibility. They take us on an interesting tour of the city center of Gdansk. The highlight was probably St Catherines Church. The visit up in the clock tower turns out to be a great experience
Warsaw
Then the class is ready to move from Gdansk to Warsaw. This happens either by bus or train. The groups also travel at different times of the day, but everyone must be in place in Warsaw during the evening. The plan is to spend two nights here. All groups report their arrival when they have settled into their accommodation. The guide assignment is split in two here, as we will spend two nights here. We are taken through the old town, shown castles and various other sights. The second day in Warsaw is spent on a tour and outdoor lunch in the Royal Lazienki Park. Fantastic place.
Krakow
Now we are moving south in the country and to Krakow. This beautiful city with a marked history. The city is beautifully located by the river Wisla. Here we have booked a one-day visit to the concentration camps Auschwitz I and II, i.e. Auschwitz and Birkenau. This will be a gripping experience for most of us.
We get a guided tour in the center of Krakow on the last day before we return home to Norway and Elverum
