The art of dressing up

One of the highlights of the year is the visit to Glasshytta in Kabelvåg. An exclusive workshop with glass and burners awaited there.

Using a burner, the glass is heated so that it becomes liquid. We first pulled out thin sticks of glass that we were going to use for decoration. Then we spun new hot liquid glass around a small iron rod, and used both opaque and transparent glass to produce different patterns. After cooling, the pearls can be used, for example, for earrings, necklaces, bracelets or key rings.
