Two beautiful line weeks at Friluftsliv

Femundsmarka

We start the period in March with two great line weeks. First, the trip goes to Femundsmarka National Park. Here we meet a wonderful winter landscape in winter clothes. When we connect the sledges and fasten our skis, we know that some peaceful days surrounded by a beautiful piece of Norway are ahead of us.

Good real skiing with a hard surface leads us into the field to Lille Grøvelsjøen where we camp the first camp of the trip

On the moon

We continue walking day 2 through Forborgen in the direction of Revlingsjøene further north. Wind-blown landscape with shining sun gives us fantastic lighting experiences. Just north of Forborgen, the wind has ravaged the snow conditions and the Quaternary geological deposits here are a bit reminiscent of a barren lunar landscape.

Down in the birch forest there are stable snow conditions and we continue to Nedre Revlingsjøen for overnight. Here we lie still on day 3. Ice fishing a bit for whimsical char that is not willing to bite and go shorter ski trips where we practice a little skiing technique before the next day's descent in Sagbekkdalen.

Against the wind, against the fire

A windy day dawns and we start the ascent to Sandtjønnvola. Fortunately, the wind helps us easily find the snowmobile tracks. They are safe to follow if visibility should be poor. Southwesterly gale works against us on the way up, but gives us a challenge we know it is good to fight against. Especially when we have fought our way over and eventually come down into the pine forest on the west side of Sandtjønnvola. Here is the tablecloth for forest camp with bull campfire. We get a taste of the wildlife by observing a couple of grouse herds, as well as six moose that have this as a winter habitat.

Short-distance outdoor happiness

After a brilliant week in Femundsmarka, we continue the line weeks with ice fishing for grayling on Glomma, Kiting along Vinjevegen, check game cameras in Elverumsskogen and have a wonderful overnight stay in gapahuk with innovation as a heat source
