Lovely autumn trip with canoe, stars and bonfire for Foto and Norwegian

The watercourse "Kynna" is one of the inland's finest paddling rivers. It winds inward between forest and fields, and gives a bit of an expedition feeling because you don't know what will come around the next bend.

With beautiful autumn weather and the sun shining, it even went well when a canoe ended up across the water and went down - luckily after we salvaged the camera equipment. And a short rescue operation and a little change into dry clothes later, the canoe was on the friend again.

Up at "Sævsjøen" we camped and set up large team tents with ten people in each. In the tents, we set up a wood-burning stove, and set up a fire watch throughout the night to maintain a good temperature.

We cooked dinner together on the fire: vegetable soup with and without meat, made from scratch. Really good autumn food while the sun was going down.

New skills

There is a lot to learn on an overnight trip. Dressing, cooking on a fire, paddling technique, how to light a fire, interaction in the canoe and when the tent is going up, and not least language when you sit around the fire and look at the stars.

In addition, light painting is a perfect technique to work with to understand how the camera works.

Light painting

After dark, the photography students used the opportunity to take pictures with a long shutter speed. Light painting is cool - and to take it one step further, we sent up the drone and used it as a light source with reflection in the water!

Nature waited with a brilliant starry sky as the finishing touch, before we crawled into our sleeping bags to the warmth and the sound of crackling in the oven.
