Photo in studio – with LED and flash
This week we spent getting to know the school's studio, with backgrounds, different lights and different "modifiers" - which shape and affect the light in different ways.
We started with the classic and dramatic “Rembrandt light,” with a strong, soft light source about 45 degrees above the model’s head, slightly in front. The lighting setup is complete when you see a bright triangle under the model’s eye, on the opposite side of the flash.
After experimenting with adding more lights and playing with reflectors, we set up another studio, this time with LED lights. The flexibility with LEDs is much greater, and you can choose all the colors in the world and creative setups. However, the brightness is worse than the flashes, so there are a few other considerations to take into account.

After some great studio sessions, we used the material to learn more editing skills in the Adobe programs! And to be honest, this bodes very, very well for the year…
