Backpacker/ Extreme sport interrailer to the Alps for skiing
In true backpacker style, we traveled down Europe by train with a rucksack on our back and passport in our pocket.
The destination was Austria for skiing.
Interrail in Europe
Backpacker/Extreme sport has been on a fantastically exciting, educational and socially unifying trip on its way through Europe by train. On this type of trip, you get the opportunity to see much more of the countries and landscapes you travel through, in addition to the fact that it facilitates good conversations and strengthens the relationships between the students.
"I think the social aspect of this trip has been absolutely fantastic"

The itinerary and the plan for the trip
We started the trip on foot from Elverum Folkehøgskole to the shuttle station. From there it was on the way by train to Copenhagen, where a reggae concert at the hostel awaited us. The trip continued to Hamburg. Here, a student had been given the task of being a guide in the city. She did a brilliant job of explaining the background history of the place and guided us down to one of Hamburg's biggest attractions, Speicherstadt.
From Hamburg to Oetz, we got to test ourselves by taking the night train, which was a new experience for most and which saved both time and money. Once we arrived in Oetz, we were met with a fantastically beautiful landscape with mountains several thousand meters high, brilliant sunshine and an idyllic mountain hut with room for everyone. The coming days were spent cruising down the mountain sides with views that are hard to describe.
On the way back, we went to Prague to get a bit of a cultural boost. Here we had a sightseeing tour of the biggest must-see attractions in the beautiful old city. We visited Charles Bridge, the astronomical clock, the Old-new synagogue, Tyn church and Prague Castle. The pupils were also given time to explore the city themselves, which gave them various experiences which we had great pleasure in sharing afterwards.
The last leg went via Berlin where we saw the Brandenburg Gate, tried "real" brattwurst sausage in Hamburg and almost missed the train from Malmö to Gothenburg before we arrived at Elverum Folkehøgskole happy, tired and full of impressions and good experiences.
"I think this is the best trip we've been on this year"
