Backpacker on a road trip in the Alps and Europe - a look back
The winter trip is just around the corner. Departure from Elverum Folkehøgskole on Monday morning. First destination is Kielferga. It takes us over to Germany where stage 2 takes us to Nuremberg. Hostel accommodation here. Stage 3 takes us past Munich to the Austrian border, which we cross. Onward towards Salzburg. Here we turn off and up the valley past Bischofshofen, past the exit to Bad Gastein and on to the area of Zell am See. We have accommodation in Kaprun. Lovely house with great apartments for the gang.
Alpine experiences in winter in Saalbach Hinterglemm are something we won't soon forget. Wonderful 200 m peaks such as Zwølferkogel, Henne, Schattberg are places we will remember. One day here.
The next day we challenged the fear of heights with the cable car up to the Kitzsteinhorn. Fantastic skiing on glaciers at an altitude of 2000-3000 m above sea level.
Two days of alpine experiences in Bad Gastein were also programmed.
The first stop on the return trip is Salzburg. Fantastic historically beautiful city which is Mozart's home. Great state
The next stop is the Czech capital, Prague. Rich in history and culture, more than enough to fill two days before we turn our course to Berlin. This wonderful cultural melting pot of a city. The last stop before Elverum was a quick overnight stay in Copenhagen.
