Backpacker / Extreme sports get to experience the best Naples has to offer!

Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, history, culture, city walks, the coastal city of Sorrento and not least fantastic pizza!

Walking Tour

Prior to the trip, the students had been divided into different groups where they were responsible for planning and implementing their own day program. The first group had a city walk on the plan. We started with a visit to the Catacombs, then took a pit stop at the Toledo metro station known for its beautiful architecture, before moving on to The Royal Palace and ending the trip at Castel del Ovo. In true backpacker style, we saved money by going from place to place, which made us better known in the city, had many small, fun and interesting experiences and we got to test both our sense of direction and google maps.

Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius

The next day, the ruins of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius were on the agenda. It was an incredibly exciting and educational day! We were all amazed at how large the area affected by the volcano was. It was impossible to get time to see everything in a maximum of two hours. Luckily we had a skilled guide who selected the most important and interesting places to visit.

When we a few hours later went up to the edge of the volcano Vesuvius and got to look down into the great abyss, the picture of the story was complete.

Self-study day

This day got the students to plan and implement their own day plan. The goal was for them to practice looking for exciting activities, find necessary information, book, find out how to get to and from and complete the activity. The students divided themselves into smaller groups based on what they wanted to do. Later in the afternoon we met at the castle Castel Sant´Elmo to watch a fantastic sunset together and share all the memorable experiences from the day.

Sorrento and pizza course

On the last day before departure we wanted to do something that Naples is especially known for: making good pizza. It turns out that a perfect pizza base should preferably be left to rise for a minimum of 24 hours. Therefore, the ones we made were put on the keel to make up for tomorrow, while we got yesterday's pizza dough available.
To make the most of our time, we chose to complete the course in Sorrento, so that we could go sightseeing in the beautiful city afterwards.
