Safari day in Africa

Lots of animals, salty lakes and fishing villages

At 0600 the safari day started in the dark. A little excited about what we got to see and with a lot of rain (then the animals often move further away) But no! With the exception of the lion and leopard, the elephants stood in a posing queue. Water buffalo at very close range, hippopotamuses both on land and in water, monkeys, baboons, hogs (Pumba), beautiful herds of antelopes, crocodiles, monitor Lizzard (lizard), crown crane (national bird), Maraboustork (Freia milk chocolate) and hundreds of other bird species (Over 600 species in Uganda) and fish species such as Catfish and Tilapia in the fishing village of Hamukunga.

After a stop at one of the few salt lakes (guiding) and the fishing village (guiding) we arrived at the luxurious Mweya Lodge where we really get to experience the great contrasts in this beautiful country.

Catfish, oyumble and tilapi were showcased at the market in the village which was the crowning winner of 'The most littered city'

After lunch and a bath, there was a two-hour boat safari on the Kasinga canal before we returned to Kasese with a stop at the new and beautiful marking site for the Equator
