Wealth vs poverty

A contrasting last day in Kampala

After a night at the luxury hotel Fairway and a delicious and comfortable breakfast, we went down together to the slums of Kisinji after crossing the busy Kampala Road and the chaotic taxi park. First stop was a new gathering place for slum boys - The Bridge. Sounds cool, but it's just a dilapidated stone bridge at the entrance to Kisinyi

Think we'll take taxi no. 3 from the left....

Fahtil(Overdose) and Brenda have both grown up in the slums, so we feel safe with them as local guides + the new guys Tony and Karim

Here is the new meeting point for slum boys - The Bridge, after the old Street Voice area was demolished by the authorities.

It is not recommended in travel guides to travel around the Owino Market and in Chisinau. After experiencing the hospitality and joy that we encountered, it is difficult to understand.

Exciting to see and shout when a train arrives with muzon girls (white) from Elverum fhs.
A one-room apartment for 8 people on 12 sqm in Kampala. Unbelievable that you can live like that, but almost as unfathomable is the hospitality and joie de vivre they show
Possible Norwegian guitar playing in the music video that Brenda wanted us to participate in
After the 2nd recording for the music video, it was ready for the Cover image!

Personally, I think this is a day for learning, experience and competence. A day full of contrasts that also shows that "if you want to understand wealth, you must understand poverty" - and vice versa. Thank you very much for the trip to the 13 of you at Africa - Aid/culture. Swahili culture and Lamu next-in March!
