Africa - Aid / Culture

Ready for East Africa, part two!

Exciting culture, language and Swahili food.

Beautiful winter day in Elverum and 32 days left until a beautiful summer day in Africa. After a great trip in the fall to Uganda, we are now ready for main trip number two: Swahili culture on the car-free island of Lamu in Kenya. Ready for 26 degrees in the water, miles of beach and sand dunes, tasty Swahili dishes, insight into Islam, small talk outside the mosques, dolphins, sea turtles and baobab trees, FlipFlop project, donkeys as cars and stylish dhows (wooden sailboats). As they say on Lamu: Hakuna matata and pole-pole. Welcome!

Experience Venn i Hverdagen, good discussions, being active for others, good assistance, different Christmas gifts, films/documentaries, cabin trips, visits to other folk high schools. Plus a wonderful boarding life together with 100 students on 7 other lines.
