Great to see the agriculture

Planting of banana trees and vegetables

AGRICULTURE:

Great and educational day on the farm at Kirembe. After an impressive bus ride by Jimmy (really off-road after the rain), we arrived and received a rich lesson about agriculture and the plans ahead. Then a simple fruit, nut and japati lunch and then a tour of the impressively large and rich area: Up on the two massive water tanks, feed thousands of fish in two fish ponds, visit the chicken farm, the pigs, the bird garden and the goats before we started planting new banana trees seed sowing of cabbage. The farm now has coffee, vanilla, mango, papaya, yak fruit, guava, aubergines, carrots and onions to name a few. It's also nice to see the beautiful flower beds and the chicken farm that the volunteers contributed to this spring. Agriculture supplies our schools with the right and nutritious food. We didn't get to visit the other farm, but large quantities of rice are produced there, 60% of which goes to the school and the rest is sold. Generally impressive, so look what so many volunteers have achieved over 11 years.
