Norwegian, Culture/Adventure class learns about the painter Edvard Munch and his art.

Due to the Corona pandemic all students have gone home to their families or friends. All the schools are closed down by the Government but we continue our activities as good as possible through distant learning. We have contact with each other through out  Asia, Europe and America.

This week we are reading  about the life of the famous Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. This helps us in order to understand and appreciate his pictures. It makes studying his art much more exciting. The students will also choose one of his paintings and write their own story inspired from this.  They are invited to draw or paint their own picture inspired from Munch.

Do you recognize this painting? It is Edvard Munchs “Skrik” – “Scream”. Edvard Munch often painted moods and feelings. What feelings do you think he wanted to express here? When you know the story and background for this picture it gets more interesting to study it.
